SAVE [USA] Karen E. Domingue-Maillet and Solvay/Eco Services Scholarship

Scholarship Description

This scholarship was established by Solvay/Eco Services formally known as Rhodia, and the Domingue family to honor Karen E. Domingue-Maillet’s life and work. The Scholarship Advisory Committee includes members of the Solvay/Eco Services Community Advisory Panel (CAP), a group of local community members in the Scotlandville area who meet monthly with Solvay/Eco Services staff to discuss issues of mutual concern and give advice and feedback.

  • Type Of Award: SCHOLARSHIP
  • Amount: The Scholarship Committee will determine the number of scholarships awarded each year. Scholarship awards are $1,000 per semester (fall and spring only). After the first semester, an additional $250 per semester will be awarded to students who maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, and an additional $250 upon completion of the final semester, making the scholarship a maximum of $10,000.

  • Automatic Consideration: NO
  • Renewable: TO MAINTAIN THE SCHOLARSHIP, THE RECIPIENT MUST MAINTAIN A MINIMUM 2.0 OVERALL GPA EACH SEMESTER. AT THE END OF EACH SEMESTER, THE RECIPIENT WILL PROVIDE THE FOUNDATION WITH AN OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT AND PROOF OF FULL-TIME ENROLLMENT FOR THE NEXT SEMESTER. THE SUBSEQUENT CHECKS WILL BE ISSUED ONLY UPON RECEIPT OF THESE DOCUMENTS.

Minimum Requirement

The applicant must be a May graduate of Baker, Glen Oaks, Istrouma, or Scotlandville High School. The applicant must be in the upper 50% of their senior class, be of good character, be a U.S. Citizen, and also a resident of East Baton Rouge Parish with a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Please note, no exceptions will be made. Students must meet all criteria.
