Tractor-trailer truck drivers move goods and materials long distances using heavy trucks.
A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary to obtain these positions. It will be necessary to complete a program in truck driving in order to obtain one of these positions. These programs are typically offered through colleges and truck driving schools. Other training will occur on-the-job.
The job outlook for this position looks very good over the next 10 years, keeping in mind that geographical differences may exist.

Truck drivers generally work for trucking companies, although some are self-employed. This work requires long days of driving (obviously!) and being away from home for long periods of time.
