Although a college degree isn't necessary to do this work, it will likely lead to more success. A four-year bachelor’s degree in fine arts or a related field will likely be very helpful. A master’s degree in a similar field, which would likely take about two-three additional years to earn, would be even more helpful.
There is likely to be a lot of competition within this industry. An artist who also has good marketing skills will likely be more successful.
